We ask for a deposit (normally £25% of the basic cost of your holiday) to secure your booking. All bookings will be confirmed in writing on receipt of the appropriate payment. Our policy on refunds is set out below. Reservations made by telephone or e-mail will be held for 7 days pending receipt of your deposit. Where a deposit is not received within 7 days, we reserve the right to accept a booking from someone else without consulting you, but will return your payment in full should it arrive after the holiday has been re-sold.
We regret we are unable to accept payments by Credit or Debit Card. Payment by cheque or cash is prefered; we can also accept payment by PayPal - please ask for details. For overseas bookings, we will only accept payment by MoneyGram or - by prior arrangement - PayPal.
Forest Edge Holiday Cottage - terms and conditions
General: We aim to ensure the cottage is comfortable, well-equipped and clean for all our guests. We would appreciate it if you would treat it with respect and ensure that it is left in good order at the end of your stay. If you notice any problems which we may have missed, please let us know so we can attend to these as soon as possible. We understand that minor breakages are sometimes unavoidable, so please keep us informed so we can be sure to replace items for future guests.
Arrival times: As we normally like to meet our guests at the property, we would appreciate it if you could inform us of your anticipated arrival time prior to the start of your holiday. We would ask that this should normally be between 2pm and 4pm, but special arrangements can be made for late arrivals where this is unavoidable.
Departure times: To allow for the cleaning of the cottage, please vacate the property by 10.30amon the last day of your holiday.
Security Deposit: All bookings are subject to a £100 security deposit, which is refundable in full after satisfactory inspection of the property at the end of your stay. This will normally be by cheque, sent out by post within 10 days of departure.We normally allow up to 2 hours to clean between bookings - should the property be left in a poor state, additonal cleaning time will be charged at £10 per hour or part thereof.In the event of anyunreporteddamage / breakages, you will be notifiedby postwithin 7 days, and the cost of repair or replacement will be deducted from your deposit
Gas and Electricity Charges: The first 16 units of gas, and the first 60 units of electricity are included in your rent for weekly bookings, or pro rata for short breaks.. The meters will be read at the start and finish of your stay, and any extra consumption charged at a rate of 90p per unit (gas) and 90p per 5 units (electricity). The total amount chargeable will be deducted from your security deposit. (We will leave a card with you where you can enter your own readings to confirm our own.)
Pets: You may bring one well-controlled dog with you to ‘Forest Edge’ at an extra charge of £10 per booking, but please advise us of this in advance. We ask that you bring a bed for your dog, and ensure it is not allowed on sofas, beds and other soft furnishings. Please also ensure your dog is not permitted to stray onto our neighbour’s land
Payment: If booking more than 8 weeks in advance, a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. For bookings made 8 weeks or less in advance, the full cost is required at the time of booking. Please make cheques payable to Mr A Duncalf, and post, with your completed booking form, to Idle Hour Holidays, Croft House, Wigtown, Newton Stewart, DG8 9BJ. We will confirm your booking by post with full details of balance due, travel instructions etc.
Cancellation: Should you need to cancel your booking the following charges will apply:
12 weeks notice or more: full refund, less £20 administration charge
(Should it prove possible to re-let the property, a full refund will be made, less the £20 administration charge).
Croft House - terms and conditions
Bookings:
We ask for a deposit of 25% of the basic Bed & Breakfast charge for your holiday (or £20, whichever is greater) at the time of booking on all advance reservations. Bookings made by telephone or via e-mail will be held for 7 days, pending receipt of your deposit. Where a deposit is not received within 7 days, we reserve the right to let the room to someone else without consulting you, but will return your payment in full should it arrive after the room has been re-let.
Where we have not received a deposit in advance, we ask for payment of the first night's B&B charge on arrival, with the balance payable at the end of your stay.
Cancellations:
Should you wish to cancel your holiday, we will refund your deposit (less a £20 administration charge) so long as you give at least 4 weeks notice.
For cancellations made 2 to 4 weeks in advance of your stay, we will retain 50% of your deposit, unless it proves possible to re-let your room(s), when a full refund will be made, less £20 administration charge.
